Shann - Shake

It’s Summer of 2024 and baby, the girls want to DANCE. Luckily for us, SHANN delivered the necessary vibes to keep Summer 2024 jumping. Her newest single “SHAKE” seamlessly intertwines elements of House, R&B, and Pop for the perfect summer night out record.

Imagine it’s a warm 75-degree night. You and your girls got that sh*t on, and the warmth kisses your skin as you head into the function. You’ve had a few drinks now and the DJ has been doing their thing so far. Next up is “SHAKE” by SHANN and it sets the mood all the way right. You’re feeling good and the music has you feeling better. So much so, that you build up enough courage to walk over to the guy you’ve been locking eyes with all night. You let him know you’ll follow him under one condition… (you’re going to have to listen to the record to figure out the answer). 

Back in February, SHANN dropped her first single of the year with “Daydreaming Again”.   “Daydreaming Again” featured similar sonic elements as “SHAKE” but was more light and airy. I look at the 2 records like fraternal twins— different but still go together, real bad. 

I wanted to call back to her earlier release to show how each respective record’s song title and cover art exemplarily match up with what the song sounds like. I will always give a nod to intentionality because it’s details like that that allow the artist to tell a story to the listener before they even press play. 

SHANN describes herself as feeling infectious on “SHAKE” and it’s ironic because the record feels the same exact way.
