‘Milkshake” produced by BBY KODIE and Stacy D45h on the 2019 album “Vouge.” Coming towards the end of the 2015-2018 SoundCloud era, “ Milkshake” embodies cloud rap letting BBY KODIE use the song as a vessel to talk his shit. With lyrics such as “Niggas wanted heat, so we gave it/ Iced out, new watch, no saving, uh /My pockets still going through inflation /Why these niggas still tapping in they savings?,“ letting the audience know to not be mistaken that he is not like any of these other niggas. Fast forward to 2021, the song began making strides on TikTok and became viral across the platform with users using the sound. Some videos reaching over a million views while using the audio.
“Milkshake” sung by Kelis produced by The Neptunes is the lead single from her album “Tasty.”
“Milkshake” being a metaphor for a quality in women that men may find irresistible. Whether it be charm, physical appearance, personality, or bedroom performance, it brings all the boys to the yard and her’s is better than yours. With the simple yet hypnotic production, the catchy tune hit No. 3 on The Billboard Top 100 in 2003, making “Milkshake” her highest charting song to date.
Producers BBY KODIE and Stacy D45h make minimal changes to the sample in the song, keeping the same melody. Slowing the tempo throughout the song, then in between the third & fourth verses the tempo is slowed to upholding the rhythmic rap essence, making the song their own. Keeping the “La-la, La-la, la” towards the end of the song, the song fades out.
Integrating the sounds together, BBY KODIE and Stacy D45h create an earworm tune that never leaves.
