justice! (Artists To Watch)

Women have been leading the charge in hip-hop for quite some time now. justice! serves as a fresh, new addition to the long lineage of women who have been and continue to put the work in to guarantee their presence and talent can’t be ignored. With just a year under her belt, justice! has proven herself to be one of the brightest emerging talents coming out of the south side of Atlanta.

Her debut mixtape “superstar next door” released last December. A play on the familiar saying “girl next door”, justice! makes her stance clear before you even have to press play— she’s built for this. “superstar next door” is flooded with confidence-laced, cleverly worded bars from track one to track eight. “Me and that bitch? antonyms. justice! and money a synonym” being the opening line on the project was more than enough to lock in and see what was in store for the next 19 minutes.

justice!’s calm, relaxed flow shines over the variety of production choices, showcasing her versatility. It gets slow and soulful on “comfortable”, lively and energetic on fan favorite “dolly parton”, and gritty on “bad2thabone”, reminiscent of an early 2000s hip-hop beat. The rest of the track-list also vibrant and unique in its own right. There’s something for everyone.

Since the release of her debut mixtape, justice! has been putting in the groundwork, performing her music all around Atlanta. The art of performing is one that can tend to be a lost one in our current climate. But for justice!, this is where she thrives. Her performances are electric and engaging. You should absolutely be on the look out for her name on a flyer if you’re in the Atlanta area, as well as her newest single “1 of 1” that’s set to drop on April 16, 2025.

The standout feature about justice!, is her authenticity. Every word she raps is believable. It makes her undeniably likeable to the listener, beyond just the music. A girl’s girl. A true superstar next door.

It’s time to wake up on justice! but if you sleep, then stay snooze. I don’t do no convincing.
