JID - WRK

Let’s take a quick second on the porch to chat about something real: sometimes the expectations we place on ourselves can put us in positions for the better, or for worse. In my experience, it’s typically for worse. Try to lead with love, do what you think is dope, and the rest follows.

JID admittedly said himself that he expected more from the reception of his recent project, “The Forever Story”. Those kinds of thoughts can assuredly drag you down even if for “like 20 minutes.” But at some point, we put our heads back down and put in the work again.

“WRK” is just that. JID hits some production (by Pluss and longtime collaborator Christo) with that lyrical gusto he’s known for. He never seems to miss a step, no matter how long it’s been between singles or general releases. Fans have been receiving it pretty well the past few hours so far too.

JID’s upcoming album “God Does Like Ugly” on the way, as well as him and Metro Boomin casually teasing a joint project too. Safe to say 2025 will see more from the Dreamville capitán.
