Well, this was unexpected. Lil Wayne the goat, but most references to him these days come mostly from his Post-Tha Carter II era. You know, the one where there was a new tape or feature every week? The one with Tha Carter III? So imagine my surprise when Jay Critch of all people turned C2 highlight “Hustler Muzik” (my personal pick for Wayne’s best song) into a modern drill banger. Not only that, but Critch did his thing and brought an authentic 2021 New York flavor to it. Crazy how things have come full circle, since this time period for Wayne had a heavy New York influence.
