This week’s “New Music Spotlight” picks are by emerging R&B artists that are carving out refreshing sonic landscapes within the genre that champions vulnerability leaving listeners with a sense of undeniable relatability. 


First Pick: “grapevine” by Low.bō, from his recently released “husk (deluxe) album. This song has smooth chords with simplistic production that complements Low.bō’s mellow vocals. This track narrates the feelings of frustration one may have when the subject of loyalty and love within a romantic connection is in question.


Second Pick: “Windy City” by EB3N starts out slow as he draws us in with his effortlessly smooth vocals. The track picks up with production that feels atmospheric as EB3N delivers lyrics that are filled with nostalgic yearning for a past lover and a plea to right wrongs. 


Third Pick: “Temptations” by Jay Safari is seductive and sultry, as he sings “inhale and exhale me,” which paints a picture of lovers consumed by each other. This track is sure to be a good addition to your late-night R&B playlist.
