Pharell Williams is carrying on Virgil Abloh’s legacy as Louis Vuitton’s creative director by highlighting streetwear and collaborating with rappers that dominate the fashion scene as a whole.
On Wednesday, Tyler The Creator dropped pictures of his soon-to-be-released Louis Vuitton collaboration. The garments he posted showcased a hand-drawn LV monogram, bright pastel colors, and the preppy aesthetic Tyler has highlighted in his current brand, Golf le Fleur.
Tyler thanked Pharell in a short paragraph for the collaboration that will officially drop on the 21st, and personally, I can’t wait to see what else Pharell has under his belt for the LV brand.
I’m most excited about the puffer and logomania in general. The puffer excites me because it’s been a staple in the Hip-Hop community since the foundation of rap itself. NY Natives wore North Face puffers and triple-fat goose jackets. And we still wear ‘em to this day !!!
The hand-drawn logo is something I’m into because it’s a new take on logomania. Dapper Dan is the creator and a Hip-Hop staple. He collaborated with the rap OGs to create unique looks. It ended up being recruited by luxury brands.
