justice!’s latest single “jet beauty” is a call back to Jet magazine, famous for it’s column, “Jet Beauty of the Week,” which celebrated Black beauty in all different mediums.

“You rubbing my feet, rolling my blunt, I’m 90’s fine, serving Jet Beauty of the Month” justice! boasts over Vayda production— a celebration of Black women just in the song’s composition alone. That remains the core message through the song’s visuals and lyrics alike.

Both the vocals and the shot were done in just one take. justice! is the star of the show and the men are just background characters. She spits confident bars about her beauty and importance while receiving nothing but princess treatment— reinforcing the notion that she is the prize, unapologetically.
