Free Rocky Rich. The man deserves it, his journey really hasn’t been easy. But that’s in the past, what matters is the present. It’s bittersweet that we would finally get a full project from one of the most promising voices the 8PAST has ever seen and he not even be here to witness just how much it means to the city of New Bedford. If you’re familiar with my 8PAST articles, you’d know Rocky is a rising star. With an East Coast swagger and the same melodic pain that made Lil Baby a household name, Rocky’s autobiographical lyrics have always painted pictures of exactly how he feels about his path. As we head into the new year and Rocky gets released (hopefully sooner rather than later) we may finally get the chance to see all that this man is capable of with undivided focus. The cycles of the street life are evident all throughout Rocky’s catalog including on this very project. May these shackles be broken so that Rocky Rich can finally see his full potential.
