She took to instagram the other day and shared that she made this song as a recovering people-pleaser. The given context made a lot sense because the entire record sounds and feels like a reclamation of one’s self and their power. From the production, to the bars, to the voice inflections, Jazzy’s delivery is memorable as it is skillful. I mean, “Way you n***** suck, man you something like a throat goat” is going to stick with me for some time.
