Cordae ft Joey Bada$$ - Syrup Sandwiches (Official Video)

Man, it may seem small but things like this bring tears to my eyes. Cordae starts his verse with bars about his daughter on his latest single, “Syrup Sandwiches”, and it’s full of nothing but love that you can feel with each word. Always appreciate when we can get art appreciating parent-child relationships, even if it’s a couple bars.

And then he proceeds to lay the rest of his verse, setting the groundwork for Joey Bada$$ to finish the alley-oop on this single. It seems like Cordae is making some of his most inspired music yet. The energy from each release seems pure and intentional. Even as features come into play, they blend right in easily as it just connects when the warmth is there.

The visuals are simple but efficient too. Spend a day with Cordae & Joey as they hang around their chosen bodega, hit donuts on a local court, cruise in the Maybach, vibe courtside at The Barclays Center, and overall just have fun as they flex the lavish life they’ve earned with a smile. Love how we even get some mixed media as the team incorporates stills, 3D photos, VHS, and Super 8 film.

This is the final single before Cordae releases his newest album, “The Crossroads”, on Friday. I’ll be tuning in.
