BabyTron - Tronicles (Album)

“Tronny number 1 just like Jalen Hurts” erupted from my speakers and I thought “oh, okay, classic, thank you, Tronimus Prime”.

BabyTron is one of those rappers that does nothing but bar up beats in his own D-town inspired fashion that seems to only improve with each passing year. 11 years deep into rapping “Tronicles” is continued proof of that. How he continues to come up with some of this stuff I don’t know, but here he is again.

“Tryna ride the wave, I hope you got some buoyancy”, says Tron deep into this project on “AMP”, a track that is a good example of his quirky yet grit-filled style that doesn’t let up. Every 5-10 seconds he says something that makes you feel like he’s spitting lore straight from the chronicles of BabyTron. To do that consistently for almost an hour and a half is pretty impressive.

I just wish it wasn’t 28 songs, especially after two projects that were half that. Two minutes long or not there’s gotta be a more concise way to package all this. Maybe that’s why the cover has him spitting from a Harry Potter sized book. Sometimes you gotta drop 30 on your fans’ heads though. And I don’t vibe with every beat, but who really ever does?

Regardless, the great far outweighs the not-so-great and you know what you’re signing up for with “Tronicles”. If you’re already a fan: BabyTron doesn’t disappoint here. If you’re new here: you’ll definitely leave here with something.
