Clipse & Pharrell Sound Off with “Ace Trumpets”

‘Disappeared then reappeared without a voila’

It’s been a long time coming (with some teasing from Push) but like ‘sins of the father’, what’s done in the dark comes to light. Thankfully, these sins from two brothers are for our pleasure: whatever Pusha T & No Malice have been cooking up with Pharrell behind closed doors with a mic and Logic Pro.

Let’s call them what they are, the Clipse. And it seems like they’re ready to do as their former namesake suggested and fully eclipse whatever any other stars have planned for the summer. “Ace Trumpets” is what we can expect from the trio. Good rapping about drugs and transgressions over good production that not many can pull off well. A combination that makes the listener want to get the loudest speaker system in their possession and blast it for like 30 minutes straight.

Like come on… ‘Dressed in house of Gucci made from selling Lady Gaga’? The subtle-not-so-subtle nod at the old Kanye? And I don’t know about you but I’ve randomly been saying ‘yellow diamonds look like pee-pee’ for absolutely no reason like 4 times a day since this dropped. And this is only light work from what we know they’re capable of. The lead single is but a quick peek into what’s on the way next month.

As all the noise comes from other things said in their profile with GQ, I personally urge we speak loudly about the music too. Because let’s not forget this snippet from months ago. Or this snippet which is said to have a Kendrick feature coming in (even if not that song, a Dot feature is confirmed). Or this snippet from a month ago.

Don’t let us be the ones to judge though, just “Let God Sort Em Out” July 11th.
