Freddie Gibbs and ScHoolboy Q say they’re true to this, not new to this, on their new joint, “Gang Signs”.
It’s not what I was expecting from this collaboration but I’m not upset about it. Both artists are able to stay in their element on a beat that feels like palm trees, sunsets and rainbows while they speak about the things attached to being them.
The cover art is very representative of what I’m hearing; that’s just my opinion, though.
Freddie Gibbs has been heating up and I’m glad he brings Q out of the TDE cave that still seems to exist (just a bit). 2021 looks exciting.
