Vince Staples x Pokémon. Never thought I’d see the day. Never thought I’d even see them two things in the same sentence honestly. I mean sure, who doesn’t love Pokémon especially in our generation. I’m a huge gamer myself. But I never in my life thought I’d hear “lost a couple friends to the streets” on an official release from the Pokémon company. Vince has been vocal about making music for sync (film soundtracks, trailers, television scores, etc.) in interviews, and we did get Lil Uzi Vert on the Detective Pikachu soundtrack, so I guess this is the natural evolution. Pun intended. I’m proud of hip-hop. Anyways, catch Vince Staples’ on Pokémon 25: The Red EP available now on all streaming services. Because you gotta catch ‘em all. Pun also intended.
