Return Of The Block Party (Introvert Event Review)

What up one & all. Big Sky Bento back once again on the check-in. You may know me as that pretty n**** in the blue Hawaiian shirt-shorts combo. Before I begin I just wanna thank God for saving me from a hangover this fine morning. Happy birthday to both Coog & Castle and happy anniversary to Cured Collection! I’m sure they’re all feeling the love, you could hardly say this event was anything but a success. Beautiful women everywhere in they finest fits. Fellas had that s*** on as well. Everybody looking good and vibing right, it was a beautiful sight to behold. These the moments that make me love PVD for real. I just moved here a year ago, just before that Block Party. That was my first event as a PVD resident and gave me a great first taste of the city. Dare I say, the Block Party came back with a vengeance. This year was even better.

There was a f****** bounce house. I know this ain’t new but still. I feel like I’m the only one that’s excited about this but it really just tied everything together aesthetically. I wanted to go in and do flips and s*** but my friends are good influnces sometimes. Aside from the bounce house, there was a photo booth where you could get the squad together and take pics, gifs, videos & boomerangs. You’ve got to love the variety.

Outside of these extracurriculars, this was a real block party in every obvious way. DJ’s didn’t skip a beat, pun intended and acknowledged. A standout for me was Brent Faiyaz’ “Wasted Time” as it dropped last Summer but has definitely been given new life thanks to the man finally dropping the damn album. There were hookah tables galore and plenty of folks even brought they own personal hookah’s from home. Vendors such as CK1 Sportswear & Hello Cakes lined up the back of the event to find entrepreneurial success.

Before I close I want to shine a spotlight on not just one of TDN’s own, but the man who started this platform altogether - my brother Coog. You may know my brother as the most phenomenal host in the whole damn city and I’m blessed to have been able to experience it as I have especially this past year. Coog doesn’t let an important record get passed by, and always keeps a pulse on the crowd with his signature “can I get a yerrrrr”. Before even living out here, I pretty much came to Providence exclusively for my dog’s events. The energy is other worldly. Our young brother is taking his talents down South to Atlanta, so you’ll definitely be seeing this platform expand.

We wish The Don Coogi nothing but success in the A!
