ScHoolboy Q hasn’t been dropping much music the past couple of years … and that’s fine because we get SOMETHING LIKE THIS.

Both “Blueslides” and “Back In Love” are Q making some magic. This being the first offering of the upcoming album makes me feel confident he’s back and about to deliver something special.

“Blueslides” is absolutely a nod to Mac Miller as it handles a jazzy sample that I’m sure the late rapper would’ve wanted to finesse too.
Q rides the tune laid by the soulful keys and stays mellow throughout. The quoted bar above is from this one and is a testament to getting your mental health right while also remembering: life kind of goes on, bro. Get right, but make sure you don’t completely lose yourself either in that hole.

“Back In Love” sonically picks it up some with a gritty bassline that’ll make you want to lean back 127 degrees; which it seems like Q does as he raps through it. It’s a nice pairing to the first and I’m sure both will sound even better within the context of the full project (assuming they’re both on it).
