Samaria - Even Paradise Rains (Album)

The intro for Samaria’s “Even Paradise Rains” displays a great use of imagery to set the tone for the project. We’re made to feel like we’re aboard a plane that’s just reached its final destination; which in this case, is symbolic of the album we’re about to dive into.

“You may now activate your feelings and maximize the volume of your preferred listening device”, the flight attendant states as she thanks us for flying “Lover Girl Airlines”— an airline I would surely be the pilot for.

This album is definitely for the lover girls who feel things a little deeper than most (me).
With love, sometimes comes loss. Samaria dives deep into the feelings of a not-so-happy ending. She expertly covers the feeling of losing yourself in love, as well as the anger, resentment, and self-doubt that can come from it.

Even Paradise Rains” is such an appropriate title. Things are not always what they seem. People are not always who they seem. Everything is flawed.

This project made me feel seen.
No lie, as soon as it ends, I go ahead and press play again. I’ve had it on repeat for the last week.
Honest and relatable, Samaria delivered.

Starting R&B off on the right foot in 2024, this is my favorite of the year so far.
