Jiles - Half On A Plate (Official Video)

This is a Jiles stan account, I’m sorry. (I’m not).

If you’re not familiar, Jiles is one part of the Brockton, MA-based rap collective: Van Buren Records. In 2023, several of their members dropped off their respective albums; Jiles included, with “Mookie Blaylock”.
Fast forward to today and we receive the music video for track #10: “Half On A Plate”.

“Half On A Plate” is a shining example of what you can expect from the album. The music video also does a great job of capturing the essence of the feel you’re going to get when listening to the project. 

The angles used, the slowing and uneasiness of motions on some of the frames, and the entire thing being shot in black and white successfully aid in driving the whole concept home. 

Sonically, you can expect grimy and eerie production, courtesy of Vinyl Villain.
Jiles locks in and floats over every beat, flexing his supreme skill as a rapper and storyteller.
The music video brings the whole picture together.
