Lil Yachty - Birthday Mix 6 (EP)

EP

Lil Yachty of the legendary 2016 freshman class (which I just covered in my recent article about the cultural reset that was 2016) has had quite the career. Originally starting as one of the faces of the mumble rap wave as old heads coined it back then, he shifted to focus more on actual lyricism and straightforward rapping. He really found a second wind in the Michigan rap scene, spitting outrageous bars with the likes of Sada Baby, RMC Mike and Babyface Ray, even releasing the Michigan Boy Boat album earlier this year. And now he’s returning to his original Lil Boat sound with a fresh coat of paint - rage beats. And I gotta be honest, this my favorite Yachty project since the original Lil Boat tape. Really happy to see this man’s progression especially since he was so heavily written off early in his career. Check out Birthday Mix 6 above.

For more Lil Yachty, keep it locked to TDN, forever.
