Elmiene - Crystal Tears (Official Video)

Elmiene might be one of my favorite artists out right now. His last few singles have made me cry. His project was on my faves list last year and he’s looking to keep that momentum going with this new single, “Crystal Tears”.

The song sounds like a priceless gem crying. Elmiene croons about getting another chance with a lover and the unsure feelings that both sides may feel. “If I known that it would’ve been the last time, … I promise I would’ve called you back, I promise I would’ve loved you back” tells a bulk of the emotion and is an tidy period to a beautiful four-minute statement.

Cinematically, the video has some pretty funny chops. If you’ve never pictured Elmiene missing a performance (opening for D’Angelo, no less) because the venue ain’t recognize nor put him on the guest list then this is your lucky day. He even gets mistaken for Kamasi Washington, of all people.
