Clark D - Lifesaver

“I’m from a generation of misguided youth, the dirty sprite, they sip like a finer juice. I’m from this s***, but feels like it’s time for new. So, I’m looking in the mirror like, ‘it’s time for you.’”

Clark D’s latest single “LIFESAVER” is a declaration of confidence and truth. He lets it be known early in the song that the crown is his for the taking and he’s ready for what comes with that. Additionally, he is sure of his purpose, which he lets off in the later half: “I realized I’m on this Earth so I can heal the youth.”

This directly ties into the overall theme of the song. He speaks on how substance use has been normalized, and even glorified, amongst our youth today. He compares lean to a finer juice and he even mentions how at 25 years old, he’s surrounded by people addicted to Percocet; another drug that is being commonly abused and normalized.

There’s a big message packed into this one minute and fifty-seven seconds. Clark D’s undeniable delivery, flow, and bars over the beat he produced and mixed himself ensure that that message will be received.

A change is imminent and Clark D is up for the challenge, but “won’t you fix this s*** too, or you’re too cool? This for the kids, don’t you know they picked you? To fix this cycle of misguided youth— the dirty sprite they sip like the finest juice.”
