Beyoncé - Texas Hold ‘Em

Did we really just get a Beyoncè commercial teasing new music on the way, and then an album announcement, AND THEN 2 new songs?! We did.

“Renaissance”, released in the summer of 2022 and gave us the perfect soundtrack for that time of the year. Beyoncè kept us on our toes sonically, delivering us a house album. Since then, we’ve been eagerly awaiting and anticipating what would be next and when would it come?

On arguably the biggest night in American television, we got our answer. “Act II” will be out March 29th, and it seems like Bey is sticking to her Texas roots this go around. She is in her country girl era!

“TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” is an upbeat, country-folk-style jig. Like, I can see this having its own little dance number; a shuffle of sorts, if you will. Regarding both sound and subject matter, it’s very different from the other record she released tonight: “16 Carriages”. The juxtaposition between the 2 songs has me eager to find out what else we’ll be experiencing with “Act II”.

More than two decades into her career and she’s still pushing the bounds.
Still surprising us. Still keeping us excited. And doing it all at the highest level. This is what it’s all about.
