Meek Mill - Expensive Pain (Album)

First off, this artwork. Meme-bait. Clearly. But also a great way to enter into the rapidly expanding world of NFTs. Now that the obvious is out of the way, let’s actually talk about Meek Mill. Social media may clown the man at every turn, but we must never forget exactly who he is. He’s a human being that earned his spot in rap’s upper echelon by being just that. Meek is really at his best when he dives into exactly how the street life makes him feel, something he’s done more of in recent years. But he made his name by mostly stunting in his early MMG days. It’s wild to think it’s been a decade since the first Dreamchasers mixtape. I’ve often made the case that hip-hop’s materialism has everything to do with the fact that most of us in the culture ain’t have much to stunt with in the beginning (and many of us still don’t now). We take retail therapy to a whole new level in our culture. So when I heard this album title, I got really excited. This new wave of music made almost exclusively out of pain has been the most captivating out of all of the prevailing trends, to me at least. So let’s see what Meek can deliver after a decade in the mainstream. Check out “Expensive Pain” above.

For more Meek Mill, keep it locked to TDN, forever.
